The Border premieres at interplay_2026

A beautiful matinee at The Cinematheque on January 24, our premiere brought together audiences and participants from the film for a truly special gathering. Following the screening, director Ying introduced the book When the World Closed Its Doors: The Covid-19 Tragedy and the Future of Borders, joined by authors Laurie Trautman and Edward Alden, who travelled from Bellingham for the event. Their work offers a powerful reflection on the unprecedented border closures during the pandemic and their lasting impact on global mobility.

Upcoming production trip in Asia

We are excited for our upcoming production trip to Taiwan, Hong Kong, and mainland China to film artist Lam Tung Pang as he opens his first solo exhibition at Galerie du Monde in mid-October. From Taipei, we will follow him back to Hong Kong to capture the inspirations and memories the city brings. Finally, the journey will take us to Fujian Province in China to trace the roots of his family.
