Ying Wang, founder, director & producer

An award-winning filmmaker, Ying has traveled widely with her camera. As a migrant navigating between cultures, she is drawn to stories that probe the complexities of humanity and question accepted narratives. Her newly completed feature documentary, The Border (2026), stands as a pivotal expression of this inquiry, a meditative reflection on boundaries and the enduring resilience and interconnectedness of human lives.

Her critically acclaimed feature documentary The World is Bright has garnered multiple international awards, including the Sea to Sky Award at the Vancouver International Film Festival (2019) and the Emerging Canadian Filmmaker Award at Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival (2020), and was nominated for two Canadian Screen Awards in 2021.

Her other notable works include Tricks on the Dead: The Story of Chinese Labour Corps in WWI, on which she served as co-producer and assistant director. This Canada-China-France co-production won two 2016 Canadian Screen Awards and the 2015 Vancouver International Film Festival Audience Must See Award. 

Yun-Jou Chang, creative producer

un-Jou is a writer, translator, arts administrator and independent producer of experimental, boundary-crossing projects ranging from film to interactive media to site specific community engaged arts. 

Born in Brussels, she spent her formative years moving between Taipei and Prince Rupert. This experience of perpetually has profoundly influenced how she approaches the act of cultural interpretation. A longtime collaborator of director Ying Wang, Yun-Jou was the Executive Producer for The World is Bright (2019) and The Border (2025). Other recent projects include UNION (2021-2024), a speculative sci-fi exhibition, XR experience, and performance by Nancy Lee and Kiran Bhumber; and Surviving Samsara, a suite of projects by Kagan Goh which has yielded an eponymous memoir (Short Listed, Singapore Literature Prize 2022), and two acclaimed short films The Day My Cat Saved My Life (2020) and Common Law (2024).

Mary Bernadine McCoy, creative director

Mary Bernadine McCoy is a multidisciplinary creative based out of Vancouver, Canada with a practice that spans the gamut from typography and interactive design to music production and garment making. She has over fifteen years experience working with individuals and organizations committed to improving their communities through art, education and technology. As Creative Director for Walking Rocks Media, Mary ensures that the visual language of our film and media projects are evocative and memorable.

Zhe Liu, video producer

Zhe is a Vancouver-based video producer working across documentary, digital media, and emerging AI-assisted workflows.

Trained at Beijing Film Academy and Vancouver Film School, his background in film and video production informs a practice that bridges storytelling and technology, exploring how new tools can reshape the way stories are created and experienced.

Zhe is currently involved in documentary production in Vancouver, collaborating with cultural institutions and artists to capture stories that bridge communities and perspectives. His approach combines structured thinking with creative experimentation, grounded in both human narratives and evolving technologies.
